Diontae Johnson was informed on Tuesday that he will be released by the Houston Texans.
Johnson has been on three NFL teams this season. He started the campaign with the Carolina Panthers and was traded to the Baltimore Ravens before the trade deadline.
On Dec. 20, he was released by the Ravens and was picked up by the Texans three days later. Johnson played in their regular season finale and in the AFC wild card win against the LA Chargers on Saturday.
NFL fans reacted to the Texans releasing Johnson ahead of their divisional round matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs with many fans thinking his career could be over.

"Washed," a fan tweeted.
"Damn... I gotta know the details on why he keeps getting cut. How can you be so blessed to be given multiple chances at being in a dream position in life and keep fu**ing it up," a fan wrote.
"Dude jus has to be bad at this point," another fan wrote.
"Is he that bad or is it a attitude thing," a fan commented.
Many pointed out how Johnson has played for multiple teams this season and has been with four teams since 2023.
Some questioned whether it was a skill or behavioral issue that led to his multiple releases.
"What's been the issue with him??" one fan said.
"Getting passed around like a blunt," a fan wrote.
"Bros playing real life fantasy football with himself,; add, drop , add, drop ..," a fan said.
"Dude is just crashing out everywhere he goes wtf is going on with him," another fan wrote.
Diontae Johnson once showed potential of being a WR1
Diontae Johnson hasn't always had the odd year he's having this season. The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted him in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft and he showed flashes of being a good wide receiver early in his career.
As a rookie, he had 59 catches for 680 yards and five touchdowns. The following season, he had 88 catches for 923 yards and seven TDs.
Johnson had the best season of his NFL career in 2021 where he had 107 catches for 1,161 yards and eight TDs, and was named a Pro Bowler.
Johnson's performance started to decline the next year. In 17 games played, he had 86 catches for 882 yards and zero touchdowns.
This season, Diontae Johnson recorded 33 receptions for 375 yards and three TDs.
