For Ravens' Mark Andrews in the Divisional Round, read Bills' Dalton Kincaid in the AFC Championship as Buffalo saw the Chiefs progress to the Super Bowl after a 32-29 win. It was the latest instance of an unbelievably close loss in the playoffs for Josh Allen and his team against Patrick Mahomes' Kansas City juggernaut.
The Chiefs' quarterback is now 4-0 in the postseason against the Bills' superstar and that narrative is taking hold that the latter does not have what it takes to overcome his rival in knockout games. But it could have been so different.
With a fourth down to start the two-minute warning, Josh Allen had the opportunity to keep the drive going with the score within three points. Steve Spagnuolo dialed up a corner blitz to unsettled the Bills quarterback but he managed to get the ball off under pressure. It was a near-perfect throw and Dalton Kincaid was completely free as the ball landed in his arms. Had he caught the ball, it would have kept the drive going and allowed Buffalo to either tie the game with a field goal or get into a position to score a walk-off touchdown.
Instead, neither happened as the tight end dropped the ball. It gave the ball back on down to the Chiefs and a couple of first downs ensured that their opponents' timeouts were wasted.

Fans were not happy with how Dalton Kincaid seemingly let Super Bowl appearance slip through his hands and took to X/Twitter to express their frustrations. Here are some of the reactions.
The responses continued to come with some saying that is what separates the Chiefs from the rest: it's not the quarterback but the team culture where everyone stands up and gets counted when it is required. Here are some more posts from the social media platform.
"That’s what separates The Chiefs from the rest. They don’t drop key passes, or fumble late in the game, or commit dumb penalties. Great coaching, discipline, and execution. They’re not overly impressive at all, on any area of their team. They just win. Boring, but successful." - said one.
"Kincaid catches this if he is a Chief ... that organization just wins man" - noted another.
"Great players make great plays. Period." - added a third.
Dalton Kincaid's drop reminds Bills' fans of previous close encounter against Chiefs
Dalton Kincaid's drop on a mammoth throw by Josh Allen in the fourth quarter was similar to Stefon Diggs' mistake last year in the Divisional Round. Most people remember it for a missed field goal but the wide receiver was guilty of letting a golden chance slip through his hands.
These margins seem to always go in the Chiefs' favor in the playoffs and Buffalo supporters are now left wondering what more they must do to break the hoodoo.
