Jalen Ramsey is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, capable of shutting down even the very best of wide receivers. He is also, at least to a few fans, one of the worst parents within the league when it comes to being a positive influence on his children.

On Wednesday, the current Miami Dolphin celebrated the New Year by posting a picture of himself and his three daughters showing middle fingers. According to him, the gesture was directed at his detractors:

But apparently, not everyone bought it:

More of the disapproval at Ramsey can be seen below:

"What a trash example for the kids." one admonished.
"Some fathers just don't know how to parent," another lamented.
"Next generation is so screwed," another shuddered.

Jalen Ramsey discusses partnership with black-owned shoe brand

Elite performance usually equates to marketing opportunities, and Jalen Ramsey has parlayed his superstar status into deals with top-tier companies Nike and its Air Jordan sublabel and Adidas. But his current shoe endorsement is something out of the ordinary.

Back in 2022, when he was a Los Angeles Ram, he searched long and hard for his next shoe before finding it: FCTRY LAb, co-owned by former Yeezy and Adidas employee Omar Bailey. Speaking to the Miami Herald in an article published on Dec. 30, he explained the rationale behind the partnership:

“You don’t hear about it all: other Black men and women being dominant in the sneaker space. Being innovators in the space. Thinking outside of the box. You don’t see it that often and it doesn’t get highlighted enough.”

And that is what led to the creation of the JR 1: a revolutionary cleat that was molded after his foot, "like no other". The entire process took a year to complete. Bailey recalls:

“We were able to create a great product. He missed almost half the season last year, comes back, has a great (performance), makes the Pro Bowl and he did it in the cleat. I remember he texted me after the last game of the season and he said ‘Yo O, these the best cleats I’ve ever played in.’ Now that has opened up the door for other athletes.”

Since then, San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Trent Williams and Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Travon Walker have also had custom cleats made. FCTRY LAb has also made the Mocc in conjunction with Colorado Buffaloes safety Shilo Sanders.
