NFL fans were enjoying the Eagles-Ravens game on CBS but were not too happy with analyst Tony Romo and his takes. The former Cowboys quarterback has made a name for himself with his keen eye and football knowledge, but his aim seemed to be a bit off in this matchup between the two heavyweights.

There was one instance where Lamar Jackson's knee went down before he lost the ball forward. It was called a sack instead of an illegal grounding, but Tony Romo had a different take on the whole thing. He was insistent that it looked like a fumble because the Ravens quarterback didn't look to have full control of the ball when going down even though he had both hands on the rock.

There was another instance where he called Justin Tucker "Mr. Automatic" after a stat showed up that the kicker is having the worst year, statistically, of his career. Even though Tony Romo later added a caveat, the juxtaposition wasn't missed by fans.

NFL observers took to X/Twitter to slam the CBS analyst for his performance in the game. Here are some of the reactions on the social media platform, with one tweeting:

"Tony Romo doubling tripling and quadrupling down on his idiotic wrong take that Lamar fumbled and CBS producers just keep running indisputable evidence he's wrong and dumb"

People were incensed by some of the former Cowboys quarterback's calls and the reactions kept coming. Here are some more comments:

"lol why is tony romo pushin for a fumble" - wondered one.
"How is Tony Romo still working the booth? This guy stinks!" - opined another.
"The fact that Tony Romo was trying to advocate for a fumble instead of being down lets me know he shouldn’t have his job….. how can you fumble after you knee is down??" - concurred one more fan.
"Is Tony Romo just completely wasted or something? I mean, he always pisses me off but this is embarrassing." - concluded a fourth.

Tony Romo gets one call right in the Eagles-Ravens game that the referees missed

Despite his insistence on checking for a fumble on Lamar Jackson that most other fans disagreed with, the CBS analyst got a call right that the referees missed. The Eagles scored a touchdown with a tush push but it was not the prettiest.

On replay, it was clear that the ball was snapped after the offensive line started moving. The officials failed to penalize Philadelphia for that play, much to Baltimore's consternation. The former Dallas star's mistakes in the booth don't affect the game, but refereeing mistakes can change outcomes. The NFL has been plagued by such instances throughout this season, but the league seems no closer to eliminating these mistakes.
