The New York Jets added pass rusher Haason Reddick from the Philadelphia Eagles this off-season. They sent the Eagles a conditional third-round pick in exchange.

The Jets made the mistake of not securing a long-term deal with the pass rusher upon acquiring him from the Eagles. Fast forward to Monday, no deal has been reached, and to add insult to injury, Reddick has officially requested a trade from the team, as per NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

Upon learning about Reddick wanting to be traded from the Jets, fans praised the Eagles for getting a third-round pick from the New York Jets. The Eagles and general manager Howie Roseman have been known to make many great moves on their roster in the last few years.

If Reddick gets traded away from the Jets (likely less than a third-round pick in return), it will be viewed as another great move by the front office.

"They should trade him to the Eagles for a fifth-round pick. Then the Eagles pay him, play him in 70% or more snaps and recoup a second round pick from the Jets!" one fan said.
"He's coming back home. Howie Masterclass. Finesse the Jets out of 2 pass rushers," one person said.
"To the Eagles for a 6th," one fan predicted.

While fans praised the Eagles for finessing the Jets out of a third-round pick for a player who might not play for them, some were roasting the Jets for how they traded for Haason Reddick without an extension.

Fans aren't surprised at the moves of the front office made by the Jets and are furious about the current situation.

"It's speaks to the dysfunction of the jets and why I've always said they will NEVER win until the owner sells the team!" one fan said.
"Jets are firmly on the hot seat I think. If this bottoms out this year, they’re cleaning house," one fan said.
"Lmao how do you let your own drafted pass rusher sign with the eagles. Then trade for a guy who doesn't even want to be there. This is so jets," one person said.

Whoever Haason Reddick plays for this season, they're getting a productive pass rusher

Haason Reddick was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals with their first-round pick in the 2017 NFL draft.

Reddick struggled in his first three seasons in the NFL but had a breakout season in 2020, recording 12.5 sacks. He signed with the Carolina Panthers in 2021 before joining the Eagles in 2022.

Redick has recorded at least 10 sacks in each of the last four seasons and has tallied 27 total sacks in the last two seasons with the Eagles. At age 29, he is still a highly productive pass rusher who will make an impact on whichever team he plays for.

Haason Reddick's situation is murky, and it is interesting to see how it gets resolved.
