"His girlfriend probably made him": NFL fans get their jokes off as Bill Belichick joins Instagram

Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick keeps surprising people ahead of the 2024 NFL season. After deciding to try his luck as a media member, the eight-time Super Bowl winner keeps turning heads with his decisions.

On Wednesday, the 72-year-old declared that he has joined Instagram. He even posted a video explaining what led to this decision and joked about 'SnapFace'.

"Hello, everyone. Surprised to see me here? I am too," Belichick says in his introductory video. "Over the past few months of not being with a team, I haven't had the opportunity to express my thoughts at a moment's notice. So now I'm changing that.

"I tried to join SnapFace, but I couldn't find it. I decided this was a good place for me to land so I can talk to you and share what I'm up to because it's a lot going on. So here I am, hello InstaFace!"

This decision took plenty of fans by surprise, and they didn't hesitate to joke about Belichick joining one of the most famous social media platforms in the world. One fan even said that it was his 24-year-old girlfriend who made him join IG.

"His girlfriend probably made him 😂," one fan said.

"I mean his girl is like 25. This should come as no surprise," another fan noted.

"His instagram model 24 year old gf probably on there 24/7," another fan said.

Another noted that he was already following Jordon Hudson.

Somebody predicted how Belichick would be after a week of using Instagram.

Another fan warned about Bill Belichick joining X.

"Don’t let him get twitter," one fan wrote.

Before finding his way to Instagram, Bill Belichick agreed to several media proposals that would keep him busy, at least until a coaching job is available. Speaking on the new challenges for Belichick, Tom Brady noted the differences between being a coach and an analyst.

"The difference is, they paid him to coach. They didn't pay him to talk. Now they're paying him to talk. So he's going to do what he's being paid for, right? And he realized, that every time he talked, when a coach - the only thing he could do is get you into problems, right? Because the last thing we wanted to do as an athlete was [to] go out there and tell all those players on the other team exactly what our plan was."

Belichick is set to become a member of the ManningCast, and will make appearances on The Pat McAfee Show. He also has his own podcast, among other new ventures.
