NFL rookie Cooper DeJean turned the tables on Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry on Sunday. Normally, it's the Ravens star who dominates with his strong build; however, a completely different scene unfolded on Sunday.

On a third down in the fourth quarter, the Philadelphia Eagles rookie made a strong tackle on the Baltimore Raven:

Mockery poured in from fans after the play:

"That shit had MAGA written all over it."

More of it can be seen below:

"Wow, he got sandwiched to the ground haha," one laughed.
"Second rounder!! lol. What’s joke," another sneered.
"Bum ass ravens thought they could handle the eagles," another jeered.

On the next play, Lamar Jackson failed to connect with Zay Flowers, causing a turnover.

After the game, DeJean admitted to the press that he did not expect himself to be able to perform the maneuver, given the size disparity.

Is Cooper DeJean the biggest steal of the 2024 NFL Draft?

That viral moment is just a microcosm of how Cooper DeJean's rookie breakout has been.

When analysts were making their 2024 mock drafts, it seemed inevitable to them that the former Iowa Hawkeye would be a first-round pick, whether it be on a contender looking for new blood or a rebuilder looking for a future cornerstone/franchise face. NFL.com's Lance Zierlein wrote at the time:

"DeJean is big and bundled for a cornerback, with muscular arms and tight hips... His best football is played with his eyes forward, using his instincts to challenge quarterbacks and his big downhill burst to smack whatever needs smacking."

But when the actual event came around, he did not get his name on Day 1, surprising a few. He came off the board early on Day 2, going to the Philadelphia Eagles, 40th overall. Despite being picked late in the draft, he has been playing like a veteran, helping them become the NFC East's best team.

The 33rs Team's Jeff Diamond writes of his impact:

"DeJean is the Eagles’ starting nickel corner and has contributed 30 tackles and five passes defensed to the team’s top-ranked defense... He is one of the big contributors to the massive improvement in Philadelphia’s pass defense that is ranked third after falling to 31st last season when they were a major cause of the team’s late-season collapse."

The Eagles beat the Ravens 19-24, improving 10-2 for the season. They next host the Carolina Panthers on December 8.
