The NFL has announced that Kendrick Lamar will be performing at the Super Bowl 2025 halftime show. The Compton-based rapper is a 17-time Grammy Award winner and has been in the news throughout this year due to his beef with Drake.
After it was announced that Lamar would be doing the halftime show in this year's Super Bowl, a video went viral on social media: Jamil “Mal” Clay was seen saying Drake had been offered to do the Super Bowl halftime shows around four times but rejected the opportunity to do them.
Fans on social media think that this is a lie, and many began to make jokes about the situation. Here's how they reacted:

"Idk, Kendrick was throwing a lot of subliminals on “Not Like Us,” I don’t think him & Drake are on good terms rn", said another user on X in a sarcastic tone
"I don’t think Kendrick Lamar like Drake that much. I might be wrong.", added another while continuing the joke
Some fans trolled Drake as they think the Canadian rapper is not happy with Kendrick Lamar doing the halftime show. Here's how they reacted:
"It's funny how people around him keep saying hes unbothered when he's clearly not lol", said a fan
"He’s just salty kendrick is bigger than him", added another
Many people are looking forward to seeing Kendrick Lamar do the halftime show at this year's Super Bowl.
Usher did the halftime show at Super Bowl 2024 and received a positive response. Hopefully, Lamar will receive the same response even though Drake's fans are not pleased with the NFL's decision.
Like others in the past, Kendrick Lamar will not be paid for doing the Super Bowl halftime show.
Super Bowl 2025 preview
Sunday, February 9, 2025, is the scheduled date for the Super Bowl 2025, also known as Super Bowl LIX. The New Orleans Saints' home, the Caesars Superdome, will host the upcoming Super Bowl.
As of now, the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers are the favorites to make the Super Bowl from their respective conferences. It wouldn't be surprising at all if we saw a rematch of last year's Super Bowl, as both the Chiefs and the 49ers looked like the best teams in the NFL in Week 1.
Apart from the Chiefs and the 49ers, the Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, and Houston Texans are the other teams that are well-positioned to make the Super Bowl this season.
