On Friday night, Michael Irvin witnessed an absolute classic college football game at the Hard Rock Stadium in Florida. The Dallas Cowboys legend was in attendance to root for his alma mater, University of Miami, who took on the Virginia Tech Hokies in Week 5.
The game kept everyone in their seats until the last play of the night. In the final moments of the game, Virginia Tech quarterback Kyron Drones threw a Hail Mary touchdown to wide receiver Da'Quan Felton. However, the referees overturned the decision, resulting in the Hurricanes defeating the Hokies 38-34.
While the ending was controversial, one particular moment caught the eyes of the fans and had them talking. Late in the fourth quarter, Michael Irvin was seen passionately cheering for the Hurricanes in their huddle.

Fans noticed his enthusiasm and had jokes for the Cowboys icon.

The Miami Hurricanes will next take on the California Golden Bears, Aaron Rodgers' alma mater, for an ACC matchup on Saturday, Oct. 5.
Michael Irvin has motivational message for Florida team (and it's not Miami Hurricanes)
While the Miami Hurricanes have started the season on a winning note, with a 5-0 record, another Florida team has struggled to get going: the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Trevor Lawrence-led team has started poorly, losing their first three games of the 2024 NFL season. Their latest defeat was against the Buffalo Bills, where they got crushed 47-10 on Monday Night Football.
The Jaguars have looked broken and the team is in dire need of a win. Michael Irvin had the perfect message for them ahead of the Week 4 clash against the Houston Texans. On FS1's Speak, Irvin gave the team a pep talk, asking them to focus on the future instead of the past and channel their pain and frustration as fuel into their efforts.
"Listen up, man, let's huddle up," Irvin said. "I want to tell you something guys I know this season hasn't gone the way we wanted it to. We're winless, we're hurting, we're frustrated right now."
Irvin added:
"I know the men in this locker room. In this locker room, we have heart, we have talent, and we have fight. The winless record will not define us. How we respond will define us. We must stop thinking about our history and only focus on our destiny."
Irvin urged the Jaguars to get it together and focus on flipping the script, before taking on the divisional rivals Texans on Sunday. The Jaguars cannot afford to start 0-4, which will further dim their playoff hopes.
