Former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback CJ Stroud is competing in the NFL Combine this week. After an impressive career at Ohio State, the quarterback is one of the most highly anticipated draft prospects at the Combine this week and has made his rounds with various media outlets.
On Friday morning, Stroud said that he wore the number seven at Ohio State because of former NFL quarterback Michael Vick, one of his favorite quarterbacks while growing up.
He then went on to say that Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson was a quarterback that he 'looks up to'. He even said that there is a similarity between himself and Watson as far as their style of play is concerned.

Those comments left NFL fans a bit confused as to why he would choose to compare himself with two NFL quarterbacks who had off-the-field issues.
One fan even said that the Texans will no longer consider CJ Stroud as a draft option after the issues that surrounded Watson during his tenure with the team. Other fans felt that the quarterback should have carefully thought about his answer before saying anything.
While it most likely won't have an impact on his draft stock, fans on social media are having fun with his answers and questioning his reasoning for them.
CJ Stroud draft projection
The first round of the 2023 NFL Draft could see several quarterbacks get picked as most of the top 10 teams in the mix are in need of a player at that position.
Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud, who sat behind Justin Fields before getting his opportunity for the Buckeyes, is one of those who could hear his name called early.
The Chicago Bears have the first overall draft pick and likely won't take a quarterback as they have Justin Fields. The Houston Texans (#2), Indianapolis Colts (#4), and the Las Vegas Raiders (#7) are all teams looking to draft a quarterback who could lead their franchise for years to come.
There is even a prediction of the Tennessee Titans moving up into the top 10 to draft him. So, it's unlikely that he will still be available after the top 10 teams have drafted.
In his two years as a starter for the Buckeyes, Stroud threw 85 passing touchdowns and over 8,100 passing yards. These are impressive stats in just two years of playing time. His ability as a pocket passer has him high on draft boards across the NFL.
