NFL fans go wild over Justin Jefferson's 52-yard touchdown - "What a f**king play"

Justin Jefferson and the Minnesota Vikings are playing in an important game on Sunday. With the Detroit Lions already winning on Thursday Night Football, the team could not allow a loss against the Atlanta Falcons, with quarterback Kirk Cousins returning to Minnesota for the first time.

Sam Darnold turned into a great starter for the team, with Cousins signing a huge four-year, $180 million contract with the Falcons. Darnold also proved why he was worthy of a vote of confidence with a great touchdown throw to Jefferson on Sunday.

With the Falcons blitzing on third down, the quarterback evaded pressure and kept his eyes down the field to find Jefferson wide open. NFL fans were impressed with Darnold's poise to evade the defenders and score a beautiful touchdown:

"Crazy thing is, all of these are underthrown by Darnold. Falcons secondary is just selling", pointed one fan.

"Jetta is too good to leave him wide open blown coverage/fallen defender or not. Taking candy from a baby", said another.

"And to think Burrow Chase and Jetta used to all play on the same team in college at one point", a third noted.

The touchdown also represented a milestone for the wide receiver. He became the first player in the history of the league to reach 7,000 receiving yards in the first five seasons of a career. He was the 22nd overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft.

Before the 2024 season, the receiver signed a four-year, $140 million extension, which makes him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. The average of $35 million per year topped the market in a year when plenty of other wide receivers signed contract extensions north of 30 million.

The amount of guaranteed money was also impressive. With $88.7 million fully guaranteed at signing, this was a rich deal for the player, but one that the Vikings knew they could never afford to lose. Even though they have a strong offensive core overall, Jefferson is a superstar by all measurements.
