Bryce Young had a forgettable rookie season, as he and his Carolina Panthers went a league-worst 2-15. Now he is "on a mission," to quote new general manager Dan Morgan, as he begins the sophomore chapter of his professional career.

On Tuesday, the quarterback was spotted arriving at the team's first day of preseason camp carrying a calm and determined figure:

But some fans thought otherwise:

Bryce Young discusses first day of 2024 preseason camp

By the time September arrives, Bryce Young will have completed his second pro training camp. So how is it different from the first? It all comes down to the expectations, as he told the media on Tuesday:

"Obviously last year, I didn't know what to expect. So it was definitely just a sense of trying to figure out what's going on? Where am I supposed to be? Now, it'll be different this year, different setting, different staff, but just knowing a little bit more what to expect will be good."

He also discussed the benefits of experiencing what he considered the first proper offseason of his life:

"It's by far the longest time that I've had off. So, it was interesting navigating that. Talked about it with a lot of other players, coaches, people who have been with a lot of NFL guys, because it's something I wasn't used to. But I'm glad with how the off-season went."

Meanwhile, Dan Morgan is confident in his quarterback's potential, pledging to support him to the fullest of his abilities as general manager and president of football operations:

"I think Bryce is one of the hardest working men in that locker room. I know he's on a mission. I know he's committed to be great, to making this franchise great. We're going to do everything in our power to surround him with the best players, the best protection, so we've got to do our part as well."

The Panthers' first preseason game is against the New England Patriots on August 8.
