Jerry Jones will want to forget his 82th birthday, fast. On Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys owner was in attendance to watch his team host the Detroit Lions in a clash of divisional champions.
But a disaster it proved to be, as the reigning NFC East rulers were routed 47-9. After the game, The Athletic's Jon Machota found Joines dejectedly walking out of AT&T Stadium:
There was much mockery in response to the scene:

"He deserves every bit of it"
"😂 happy birthday, Jerry. This was like a self bought bday present. I don’t wish him a bad day though lol," one fan said.
"I hope it's the worst day of his f***ing life," another added.
More of it can be seen below:
"Glad it happened the way it did," one rejoiced.
"Love this for him," another marveled.
"Best birthday present ever!!" another celebrated.
Dak Prescott was reduced to a shell of himself the entire afternoon, completing just 17 of his 33 attempts for 178 yards and two interceptions. Backup Cooper Rush was also picked once.
Jerry Jones reacts to Cowboys’ historic 47-9 loss to Lions
Jerry Jones did not hide his displeasure at Dallas' performance when he met the press after Sunday:
“This was a shocker.”
And he has every right to use that word. What is especially shocking about the loss is that it represents the Cowboys’ fourth straight at home, dating back to last year’s Wild Card Round rout against another NFC team - the Green Bay Packers. By contrast, all their wins have come on the road - two of them against AFC North teams (Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers).
This is also the biggest loss of Jerry Jones' team inside AT&T Stadium, which opened in 2009 to replace Texas Stadium. The Lions were the last visitors to lose inside the venue - 20-19 in Week 17 of the 2023 season.
While the Cowboys opened the scoring with a 3-0 lead, they would trail for the rest of the game. They also failed to reach the endzone at home for the first time since losing 19-3 in the 2022 season opener to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They would avenge that defeat in the Wild Card in what would turn out to be the last-ever game of Tom Brady (who was in the booth for Sunday’s game).
