Dr DisRespect had built a cult following in the streaming world and a working relationship with his favorite NFL team, the San Francisco 49ers. However, within the past week, all of that has come crumbling down.
Herschel Beahm IV started posting gameplay videos under the alias Dr DisRespect in 2010. Within a decade, his internet persona, complimented by his signature look, made him extremely famous amongst the younger demographic.

However, as the allegations of inappropriate behavior with a minor online started gaining traction, it was reported that the 49ers have cut their ties with the 42-year-old streamer.
“BREAKING: The #49ers have cut ties with streamer Dr DisRespect after he admitted to inappropriately messaging a minor, a team spokesperson said in a statement,” a post on X by @_MLFootball reported.
The fans were quick to respond to this decision made by the 49ers front office.
“I'm still surprised so many were backing him when the details started coming out, and worse, even still as he admitted everything.
Making millions each year streaming, and it wasn't enough to keep him from being a disgusting creep.”
“Yeah…anything with that guy is to be avoided.”
The Niners, in a statement to SFGate, stated:
“We take these developments seriously and will not be working with him going forward.”
Some fans of Dr DisRespect also expressed their dissatisfaction with the streamer.
“Very disappointed with him. Can’t bring myself to watch him anymore”, wrote one fan on X (previously Twitter).
While other fans expressed their joy at the Niners cutting loose Dr DisRespect.
“Good riddance, sicko”, wrote one fan.
“About damn time. The fucking country should cut ties with this douchebag. I wonder what his wife thinks,” wrote another fan.
What happened with Dr DisRespect?
Merely weeks after signing a new contract with the streaming giant Twitch in 2020, the platform banned Dr DisRespect. Though there were different reports behind his ban, the real reason was not stated until earlier this week. Dr DisRespect took to X to confirm the allegations against him. He wrote:
“Were there Twitch whisper messages with an individual minor back in 2017? The answer is yes. Were there real intentions behind these messages, the answer is absolutely not.
“These were casual, mutual conversations that sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate.”
The two-time Esports Streamer of the Year, Dr DisRespect has also stepped down from his role in his media company. He has stated that he will be taking care of his wife and daughter during this time in their lives.
