Anthony Richardson is becoming a big question mark in Indianapolis.

The Indianapolis Colts have been officially eliminated from playoff contention. The team faltered in a must-win game against the New York Giants, who had no incentive to win due to holding the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, and their season is officially over.

During Week 17's disastrous loss, Richardson had to watch from the sidelines. He was inactive due to a back injury, with the team stating that his back was feeling sore, and veteran quarterback Joe Flacco played in his place.

However, on Wednesday, he spoke to reporters prior to Week 18's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars and he explained that his injury was way more serious than at first thought. NFL fans, remembering Andrew Luck's early retirement in Indianapolis, could not help but wonder whether the same fate could be coming for the Colts quarterback:

"This ain’t no joke man. Having bulging and herniated disc is beyond painful. It can cause temporary paralysis and make you just fall randomly", explained one fan.
"And yet Steichen said he was sore? PR disaster class by this shitty ass organization", said other.
"I'm worried about Richardson's long-term durability - the fact he was literally crawling around his house with a disc issue is way more serious than the team let on", a third fan said.

Lack of game time for Anthony Richardson continues to be a concern for the Colts

The second-year quarterback remains a work in progress and his development continues to be hampered by outside factors. He suffered a season-ending injury in Week 5 of the 2023 season and in 2024, he once again did not play a full season.

Apart from his benching midway through the year after leaving the field without any apparent reason, he also missed games through injury once again. He has played in just 15 out of 33 possible games since he was a top 5 pick in 2023.

One of the biggest questions coming out of college was his lack of experience, with just 13 games in Florida. Considering how he's suffering to consistently be on the field, it's fair to point out that shadows of Andrew Luck's injury concerns are lurking on the Colts' background.
