It may have only been the second week of the preseason but Dallas Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey is already in midseason form. With just two seconds remaining in the first half of Saturday night's road game against the Las Vegas Raiders, Aubrey extended the lead.

The Cowboys kicker drilled a 66-yard field goal to add three more points en route to Dallas' first preseason victory.

The Dallas Cowboys fan base was still pretty excited about their kicker's achievement. NFL fans shared their thoughts on Aubrey's accomplishment on X. There were, of course, a lot of comparisons to Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker, who is considered one of the best in the league.

The Cowboys fans were so excited that they didn't even care if it was just preseason and that the long kick wouldn't be documented in the NFL history books.

Others believed Brandon Aubrey would have made a 70-yard field goal by the looks of the distance he had.

"Looks like he might have got that from 70," said one fan
"I don’t care that its preseason," declared one fan
"HES ALREADY THE BEST KICKER IN THE LEAGUE," one fan was convinced

Another fan on X declared him the 'best kicker in the league' before the season even began. Another wondered if the Dallas Cowboys now had a longer 'field goal range' this season, which could help the team overall.

With all the turmoil the Dallas Cowboys faced this offseason due to lack of additions and CeeDee Lamb being a holdout, it appears Brandon Aubrey is getting them excited.

"Oh my god, thats insane! GOAT," one said of Aubrey's performance
"a new definition of in field goal range has been written," one user on X believed
"Thats my kicker," a proud Cowboys fan said

Brandon Aubrey would have tied NFL record with this field goal

NFL teams rely on their kickers to help them out when getting the ball in the end zone turns out to be a hard feat. In the last few years, kickers have attempted longer and longer kicks in hopes of securing late game wins.

Brandon Aubrey, a former professional soccer player, made his NFL debut in 2023 as a 28-year-old rookie. His longest field goal was 60 yards in Week 14 against the Philadelphia Eagles, when he became the first kicker to successfully kick two field goals of at least 59 yards.

Although Saturday's 66-yard field goal won't go into the record books, if it had been a few weeks later, it would have tied Justin Tucker's NFL record for the longest.
