The Kansas City Chiefs have done it: they have clinched the AFC's top seed, first-round bye and playoffs home advantage after a 29-10 win at the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas.
Patrick Mahomes was simply dominant, completing 29 of 38 attempts for 320 yards and three touchdowns - the last of them being Travis Kelce's 77th, the most in franchise history. His exploits were greatly aided by an excellent performance from the offensive line, which held TJ Watt and company to just two quarterback hits and no sacks at all.
The defense, meanwhile, was just as successful - five sacks, nine quarterback hits, and an interception on Russell Wilson. They also forced tight end Pat Freiermuth to drop a reception, which they recovered.

More of it can be seen below:
"Lions will drop 40 on KC," one wished.
"Fakest 15-1 team in history," another sneered.
"This is getting old," another groaned.
During the postgame celebration in the locker room, head coach Andy Reid dressed up as Santa Claus and "announced" to the team:
"Merry Christmas. I'm proud of you dudes. Proud of you. For the present, you get home-field advantage."
He would shed the disguise before the postgame press conference, where he revealed, among other things, that Isiah Pacheco (20 yards and a touchdown on nine carries) had injured his rib.
Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce react to Chiefs securing top seed
After the game, Mahomes and Kelce were briefed about the moment. According to each of them, it was harder than perceived (eleven of their previous wins have been by6 a single possession):
Mahomes: "We played some gruelling football teams; (had) some hard-fought battles; and the guys came away with three wins. Getting that No. 1 seed is important, so I was happy to get that done."
Kelce: "It was a challenge. We've known for quite a while. That being said, there's only one way you beat a challenge; and it's to take it head on."
Reid, meanwhile, had a message to send his men - remain focused:
"We're gonna celebrate this, but we're gonna get right back out. We got a good Denver team that we were going up to play, and we've got the playoffs."
The Chiefs end their season at the Denver Broncos. Broadcasting details will be announced after the conclusion of this game week.
