After losing out on offensive coordinators Liam Coen and Ben Johnson, who were viewed as the top two head coaching candidates this offseason, the Jacksonville Jaguars are flying in Robert Saleh for another in-person meeting on Friday.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, many around the league view Saleh as a potential favorite to be hired by the $4.6 billion franchise (per Forbes). He noted that it wouldn't be a surprise to see them expand their coaching search.
Upon hearing the news that Saleh is viewed as the favorite to land as the Jaguars' next head coach, fans had mixed opinions. Some think Saleh could see success as the Jags' head coach.
"I hope it works out though. Please be the next Dan Quinn," a fan said.

"Not my choice but you can’t knock how great of an defensive mind he is... Are we looking at Mike Lafleur or Kubiak as an OC?" one fan said.
"Saleh is a good coach. He needs a good OC," a fan said.
"Jaguars 100% going 12-5 next year if he’s HC. It’s just the script. We know how this goes," a fan wrote.
Not everyone is on board with Jacksonville making Robert Saleh their next head coach.
Some fans pointed out that he did a terrible job as the New York Jets head coach, while others said it seemed like a desperate move from a desperate franchise. Some even think it's the worst-case scenario that the Jaguars retained general manager Trent Baalke this offseason.
"A desperate coach going to be hired by a desperate team just because one guy still remains in the building. It's truly remarkable," a fan said.
"Getting the old Jets coach just makes me want to vomit. I don't care what happened there. The Jets are as much of a train wreck as we are and we're going to take their trash as a head coach? This team is poverty," a fan wrote.
Jacksonville Jaguars missed out on Ben Johnson and Liam Coen, turning their attention to Robert Saleh
It's no secret that the two top head coach candidates during this offseason cycle are former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson (now signed as the Chicago Bears head coach) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen.
Many believed Coen would be Jacksonville's next head coach after losing out on Johnson. This morning, the Bucs retained Coen, making him one of the highest-paid coordinators in the NFL.
Jacksonville didn't land either Johnson or Coen because they didn't get rid of their GM, Trent Baalke.
Some coaches weren't comfortable with Baalke as the team's general manager. The Jaguars have had three top-five draft picks in the last five drafts (that includes this upcoming draft).
