Kamala Harris wearing the Eagles’ helmet in pictures on the sidewalk of a bus stop went viral earlier this Monday. Along with this picture, a statement that the team is endorsing her as their Presidential candidate also went viral. However, this turned out to be fake.
The Philadelphia Eagles washed their hands off a fake ad and vowed to get it removed. Only a few days ago, US President Joe Biden was spotted wearing Eagles gear.
Some members of the Eagles fanbase did not like the President wearing their colors. This time though, the franchise wanted to nip a political controversy in the bud.
“We are aware counterfeit political ads are being circulated and are working with our advertising partner to have them removed.”

After the official statement bringing the truth into the matter, some of the more politically active fans declared their allegiance to former President Donald Trump and shunned the current Vice President Kamala Harris.

However, the majority of the NFL fans breathed a sigh of relief after learning that the endorsement ad was fake. They want the NFL to stay away from politics.

“Thanks for keeping sports positive," wrote another fan.
“Good. Politics have no place in sports," wrote a fan on X (previously Twitter).
Donald Trump and the Eagles have a history
The Eagles have been a part of the NFL since 1933 but were able to win their first and, to date, only Super Bowl in 2018. However, the team could not carry on the tradition of visiting the White House due to being disinvited by then-President Donald Trump.
“The Philadelphia Eagles Football Team was invited to the White House. Unfortunately, only a small number of players decided to come, and we canceled the event. Staying in the Locker Room for the playing of our National Anthem is as disrespectful to our country as kneeling. Sorry!”
The protest by way of kneeling during the national anthem was at its height during that time, which created a rift between the champions and then-President Donald Trump.
