Kris Boyd was amidst the action right from the start of the Texans' Divisional Round clash against the Chiefs. Lining up on special teams, he was responsible for stopping the return deep in his own half. Kansas City began with a mammoth kickoff return and he brought down the returner Nikko Remigio, causing him to fumble the ball.

However, much to his chagrin, the home team recovered the ball. This caused Kris Boyd to throw his helmet in frustration. He then pushed special teams coach Frank Ross on the sidelines. In return, the referees tacked on 15 more yards for unsportsmanlike conduct to set up the Chiefs' offense just 13 yards out from the endzone.

Fans were not amused with the way Kris Boyd reacted, taking to X/Twitter to air their opinions. Here are some of the reactions.

Many fans were baffled as to why Kris Boyd reacted. They reacted with confusion but most agreed the way he behaved with his coach was over the top. Here are some more posts from the social media platform.

"Im so confused why he did that" - said one.
"I honestly can't tell if it's anger behind it or he just really hyped up" - wondered another.
"is he hype or mad?" - asked a third.

Kris Boyd's 'happy' experience with Texans might turn sour after meltdown

Kris Boyd was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings and then played a while with the Arizona Cardinals. But he was born in Texas and went to college there too. When he joined the team in 2023, he confessed to being the happiest he has ever been returning home. He told the Gilmer Mirror,

“I told my family when I got the news that I think this is the happiest I’ve been since I’ve been in the NFL. Getting drafted was great. I enjoyed that too. That was a great experience but... this will mean something because I’m back home... With family here it’s just like going back home and playing for Gilmer or UT. It’s in the city at home and it’s a blessing. It was cool in Minnesota but I’m far from home there; still in the NFL and it was a blessing to be there as well, but coming back here, like it’s different now.”

However, his reaction here might spoil this homecoming unless his coaches are kind enough to understand the moment and excuse it or he can justify it or apologize.
