Modernity in the NFL might've gotten in the way of Tom Brady if the legendary quarterback was still playing.
The league is instituting sensors on the football that will play a sound if the pressure on the football isn't correct. This is set to overcome any competitive advantage that might've come with deflated footballs, such as more difficulty for the defenses to force a fumble.
As the NFL has installed a sensor to monitor the pressure of footballs, NFL fans were quick to talk about Tom Brady's Deflategate scandal from the 2014 NFL playoffs, from which he fought the league over a year before ultimately accepting a four-game suspension in the 2016 season:

"The Brady Whistle?", asked one fan, while another tagged Brady with an eye emoji on another tweet.
Brady and the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl in 2014 and again in 2016, when Deflategate first occurred and was then ajudicated.
What was the Deflategate scandal? What was the involvement of Tom Brady?
During the first half of the 2014 AFC Championship Game, a Colts defender noticed that the footballs used when the Patriots were on offense felt a bit deflated. There's a specific amount of pressure that needs to be used on footballs, and officials measured at halftime that some of the Patriots' balls were below the required mark.
The Patriots obliterated the Colts that game in a 45-7 rout; however, the controversy was an unwanted distraction as New England prepared for the Super Bowl.
Roger Goodell issued a four-game suspension to be served in 2015, but Brady filed a legal challenge.
However, prior to the 2016 season, Tom Brady decided to accept a four-game suspension to start the year and end the controversy once for all. And it was a good decision, as the Patriots started the season 3-1 and later won Super Bowl LI against the Atlanta Falcons.
