The Cleveland Browns had a poor Sunday as the reigning Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs rolled into Huntington Bank Stadium and left with a 21-7 victory that saw the home team drop to 3-11. The Browns already have one eye on the 2025 season, but their preparation for it has already suffered a massive blow as superstar Nick Chubb left the game against the Chiefs with a severe injury.
On a play-action call in the third quarter, the running back faked getting a hand-off from quarterback Jameis Winston but couldn't sell it as he began limping even before he reached the line of scrimmage. He left the game, went to the locker room for further evaluation, and did not return for the rest of the afternoon.
In the postgame press conference, coach Kevin Stefanski announced that Chubb's injury is a season-ending fracture. Fans on social media were stunned by the running back's latest ailment:

Nick Chubb injury history: RB's left leg continues to be an issue
Nick Chubb has suffered three major injuries in the last 10 years. His first came in his sophomore year at Georgia. In a game against the Tennessee Volunteers, the running back tore the PCL, MCL, and LCL in his left knee. He had to undergo reconstructive surgery and spend a year on the sidelines.
He avoided any major injuries in his first five years in the NFL, but his luck ran in Week 2 of the 2023 season against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He tore the MCL and damaged the ACL in his left knee again, and was ruled out for the rest of the season.
The Browns kept Chubb on ice until Week 7 of the 2024 season to ensure his knee had recovered. All looked good until Sunday, when his left leg buckled and he suffered a fracture. His left leg has been through the wringer over the past decade. The running back returned after the first two injuries. However, it remains to be seen whether he has the drive to undergo surgery and rehab for a third time and mark a return to the field in 2025.
