Zay Flowers has the potential to be the greatest wide receiver in the history of the Baltimore Ravens. This season alone, he has hit a thousand yards and made the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career - the franchise's first-ever wideout to achieve the latter.

But on Saturday, something worrying happened - while going down during a run after the catch in the second quarter of the game against the Cleveland Browns, he was hit in his right leg/knee by guard Andrew Vorhees.

He was declared questionable to return upon leaving the field with just a single nine-yard reception to his name:

There was immediate fear and concern afterward:

More of the fans's emotional thoughts observed on X (formerly Twitter):

"Zay flowers is needed.. prayers Ravens Flock," one urged.
"Hate to see that," another rued.
"Yikes huge loss," another gasped.

The Ravens would enter halftime with a 14-3 lead thanks to touchdowns by rookie cornerback Nate Wiggins (26-yard interception return) and veteran tight end Mark Andrews (12-yard pass from Lamar Jackson).

Ravens WR Zay Flowers' injury history

Surprisingly enough, despite his slight frame (only 5’9” and 175 lbs.), Zay Flowers has managed to remain largely injury-free throughout his professional career so far.

As a rookie, he never missed a game because of injury during the regular season. The only game he sat out was the season finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but that was because the Ravens had clinched the AFC’s top seed beforehand and were resting their starters, including him.

His first taste of injury came against the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game against the Kansas City Chiefs, when he wounded his hand after frustratedly slamming his helmet on the sidelines following an ultimately costly goal-line fumble. However, that did not prevent him from finishing the day with five receptions for 115 yards and a touchdown.

The 2024 season marked the first regular-season injury scare of Flowers’ career, as he pulled his ankle during the Week 7 win at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, it ultimately proved not severe enough to rule him out of the following week’s loss at the Cleveland Browns, where he was his team’s leading pass-catcher with 7 grabs for 115 yards.

The Ravens have since announced that he will take no further part in today’s game.
