Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos were one of the NFL matches that didn't work out, but both the quarterback and the team are better off in the relationship. He found himself a new home with the Pittsburgh Steelers, while they drafted rookie quarterback Bo Nix, who has been playing lights out.
One of the NFL most-known traditions is for quarterbacks to gift their offensive lineman when Christmas time comes around. There's no range of price, but every quarterback knows that it's time to spend some bucks on the players who give their lives to keep him protected.
Wilson, a veteran quarterback who has signed huge contracts throughout his career, did not save any money on his gifts, with a long list of goodies to his offensive line teammates:

However, NFL fans know that, even though he has moved to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the quarterback is still getting a lot of money from his deal with the Denver Broncos. As such, when his gifts became public, they trolled the franchise with a reminder of his huge - and failed - deal:
"You mean the Broncos spent $500k on gifts", said one fan.
"These gifts are not only expensive, but they also reflect how much Russell Wilson values his team and personal relationships", another pointed out.
"No, the Denver Broncos gifted them, lol" a third one said.
"Broncos paying for Christmas presents for the Steelers players, nice" was another reaction.
How much money is the Broncos still paying Russell Wilson?
In one of the worst deals of the league's history, they gave him a five-year, $245 million deal with hopes to fix the quarterback position. The Broncos had not played in a single playoff game since the 2015 season, the final of Peyton Manning's career, when he led the franchise to the Super Bowl.
Coming from the Seahawks with superstar status, Wilson was expected to lead the team back to the postseason. But after two subpar years, the team decided to cut bait sooner rather than later and outright release him.
However, after his release, they were still obliged to pay him $39 million for his fully guaranteed salary for the 2024 season, plus another $32 million in relation to salary cap chargers from his post-June 1 release designation.
