NFL fans could not stop trolling the New York Giants after Saquon Barkley reached 1000 yards for the season with the Philadelphia Eagles. The New York team is languishing at the bottom of the NFC East whereas Philadelphia is battling it out with Washington for the top spot in the division.

The Giants inexplicably chose not to bring back the running back because they did not think he was worth what he was asking for. Saquon Barkley has proved them very wrong this year. He has added another dimension to the Eagles' offense. He got to 1,004 yards for the season in just 175 attempts, which equates to a whopping 5.7 yards per carry. He also has six touchdowns.

Fans took to X/Twitter, to poke fun at the Giants for letting a player of his caliber leave:

The comments continued with many blaming New York for valuing Daniel Jones more highly than their running back.

Here are some more reactions from fans on X:

"I can’t believe the Giants let him go. They paid DJ too much money which is probably why," wrote one fan.
"1000 yards rushing in 9 games. The Giants are fucking idiots. Saquon deserves better, hate that it’s in the NFC East, but I am happy for him," vented another.
"1000 rushing yards for Saquon Barkley . Thank you Giants," gloated said another fan.

Saquon Barkley reaching another level with Eagles after leaving Giants

Saquon Barkley is having an unbelievable season. The only reason he is not on top of the stats charts for rushing yards is because Derrick Henry is having a great year with a very strong Baltimore Ravens team.

The Eagles running back reached 1,000 yards in less than 10 games. Playing behind a strong offensive line has helped as he is eating up the ground for fun. To put it into perspective, he had 5,211 yards in six seasons with the Giants, which averages less than what he has already achieved in 2024.

Even comparing his best years, the improvement is clear to see. Saquon Barkley's best season in New York came in 2022 when he accumulated 1,312 yards in 16 games. He is averaging more than 100 yards per game in Philadelphia and is expected to eclipse that mark in the next few games. If he carries on at the current rate, he could reach more than 1,700 yards this season.

That is just on the personal front. As a team, they are trying to reach the playoffs whereas his former team is trying to salvage what is left of the season. In this entire scenario, there are two winners and one loser. Saquon Barkley and the Eagles are celebrating whereas the Giants are left to wonder how they could have let him go.
