It was the flop heard around the world, as Patrick Mahomes essentially helped the Kansas City Chiefs offense by drawing a penalty against the Houston Texans. Outrage against the three-time Super Bowl winning quarterback noticeably slowing down in order to get pushed out-of-bounds quickly circulated on social media.

This week, while speaking to reporters, Mahomes was asked about his actions and he admitted that he shouldn't have done it. Some fans on Reddit though, aren't convinced that the quarterback was sincere with his admission.

Some fans said that while he admitted he shouldn't have done so, it doesn't indicate that he won't continue to do so. Another compared his flop to that of soccer when athletes do so to draw a yellow card.

Fans continued to joke about the penalty and Patrick Mahomes' admission afterward. Some Reddit users compared some of their own actions to the quarterback's and another said that Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is also well-known for doing the same, which could make for quite an interesting game on Sunday.

"Me after door dashing taco bell for the fourth time in three days."-one fan joked about the sincerity of Mahomes comment
"We're in for a treat this weekend watching Mahomes and Allen trying to match each other touchdown for touchdown, flag for flag. Tony Romo is going to be busy."-one fan on Reddit said
"I mean, the problem isn’t really him trying to do that. It is the fact that he gets rewarded for trying to do that. The solution must be on the officiating, not on players trying to eke out advantages."-another said

The discussion on Reddit continued as one found it "atrocious."

"But Im gonna do it again next time because it usually works."-another person on Reddit assumed
"That flop was pretty atrocious lmao."-another joked
"“But I 100% meant to and 100% will do it again."-said another

What did Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes say about his flop during AFC Divisional Round?

Patrick Mahomes was asked about the penalty that was drawn in his favor with less than two minutes remaining in the third quarter.

Mahomes admitted that he did indeed do "too much" in order to draw a flag.

“I would say the only one I felt like I probably did too much was the one on the sideline where I didn’t get the flag. The ref saw it and didn’t throw a flag, I understood it immediately and know that I probably shouldn’t have done that,” Mahomes told reporters on Wednesday.

Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman, who was on the call for ESPN, immediately said on the broadcast that he knew Mahomes was trying to get a flag.
