NFL fans remain divided as Caleb Williams-Jayden Daniels debate heats up ahead of 2024 season - "Caleb is a bust", "both mid"

Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels were the top two picks of the 2024 Draft

The top two picks of the 2024 draft have recently taken over the NFC teams. There has been much debate and discussion about each player's potential, and ESPN's Kimberly Martin joined Booger McFarland in siding with the latter over the former on Friday's episode of ESPN's Get Up:

Fans were soon to jump on this discussion:

Columnist predicts Jayden Daniels winning team MVP, but not Caleb Williams

Another person who believes Jayden Daniels will be better than Caleb Williams is NFL.com writer Eric Edholm. In his list of projected team MVPs, he explains why the Commanders will choose their rookie QB for the honor:

"If Daniels can make it through his first season relatively healthy, I think he has a slightly better chance of being the Commanders’ most important player this season. If he leads the Commanders to the franchise’s first winning record since 2016, Daniels could have a Stroud-like effect on this franchise," Edholm said.

As for the Bears, if it is not their first overall pick who becomes the team MVP, who does? Edholm names wideout DJ Moore:

"If there’s an individual player who holds the key to helping unlock Williams more than Moore, I don’t know who it is.
"In the 12 games Justin Fields started and finished last season, Moore averaged 91.8 receiving yards per game and caught half of Fields’ TD passes. Even with a stronger receiving corps this (season), Moore figures to be a huge part of Williams’ development (as a rookie) -- and well beyond," he added.

However, former safety Ryan Clark believes that the media should hold both youngsters on the same pedestal. He wondered aloud on First Take why the media would not allow them to be good on their individual merits rather than compare and take sides:

"I believe that the teams have been built around them to do that... but what happens when you get people who have sort of this above the X's and O talent is you start to try to put reins on them too early."

The Bears and Commanders will play each other on October 27. The game will kick off on CBS at 1 PM ET.
