Sunday's matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens was, in theory, a solid matchup between top teams with stacked rosters. But already, it has been mired in controversy.
At the two-minute warning of the second quarter, quarterback Jalen Hurts executed a tush-push to score a lead-grabbing touchdown. But there was a problem: his offensive line had moved before the ball was snapped.
Somehow, the referees failed to notice this illegal movement and did not call a penalty, allowing the score to stand. There was much outrage from fans as a result:

"@LASIKdotcom we need you," one begged.
"The refs must’ve been on a coffee break," another wondered.
"League needs to begin fining the refs," another demanded.
Justin Tucker, who had missed his only extra point attempt so far, would hit a field goal to reduce the deficit to end the first half.
Eagles' last two games marred by missed/erroneous calls
The Eagles’ previous two games also had their fair share of missed calls.
First, against the Washington Commanders, officiating spokesperson Walt Anderson acknowledged that rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean should not have been called for pass interference for pulling wideout Noah Brown’s Jersey during the opening drive of the second half. While it could have been construed as holding, it was not sufficient to hinder a catch.
He also admitted to missing a roughing-the-passer call when rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels took a hit.
The following week against the Los Angeles Rams, there were at least two erroneous calls that may have decided the outcome. The first was when running back Kyren Williams fumbled on the opening drive but was later ruled down. The next play occurred, but then the referees determined that the Eagles had challenged during the previous play.
The other came in the third quarter, with the Eagles leading 14-27. Sitting at their opponents’ 14, the Rams were called for offensive holding. Head coach Nick Sirianni declined the penalty and play was set to resume - only for him to change his mind, causing yet another stoppage of play.
Joshua Karty would miss a field goal to conclude that drive, and the Eagles would confirm victory with a touchdown.
