Aaron Rodgers has had the worst season of his career and the quarterback, somehow, got fined for a tackle. It happened after he had a late hit in Week 17, as he shoved an opposing player out of bounds after throwing an interception in the third quarter.
The league fined him $11,255 for the late hit. It sparked rage among the Bills players, but the situation did not escalate much as a smart play: Buffalo would not gain much from entering a fight against the opposing quarterback of a rival team who had already been eliminated.
However, NFL fans could not believe that the league chose to fine the quarterback, even if the hit was considered a bit late, due to the penalty instantly being called. The fans called the league extremely soft:

"Travis gets 14k for a celebration but a late hit is 11k. Player safety #1 right? Ridiculous", said one fan.
"He hardly touched him. Weak fine, but weak performance by Rodgers all year also", another pointed out.
The quarterback had a dreadful performance against the Bills, throwing no touchdowns and two interceptions. He was pulled from the game when the score was 40-0 in Buffalo's favor, and when backup Tyrod Taylor took over, he threw two touchdowns to make the final score 40-14.
Will Aaron Rodgers return to the New York Jets in 2025?
At this point, there's no clear answer on the future of the quarterback. He has already made it clear that retirement is one of the options, but he could also move to other team and, yes, maybe even return to New York in 2025.
The franchise fired its head coach and its general manager midway through the year, so it will be a clean state for whoever is hired. Finding a franchise quarterback is never easy, and the Jets know this very well. Who knows what can happen with a new direction?
There will be a lot of guesses about Rodgers' future, but at the end of the day, the real answer will only come when the season is over and the quarterback publicly announces his future.
