Cam Newton is taking his media talents to ESPN. The company announced today that Newton will be a regular on First Take, joining Stephen A. Smith and Molly Qerim on the show.
Upon joining ESPN First Take, there were mixed reactions on X, with some fans happy to see him joining the company while others weren't thrilled.

"Lol, clown individual for a clown organization, no surprise," a fan wrote.
"no way they signed this bum. crybaby cam is such a clown. fits in well with espn," one fan said.
"I didn’t think First Take could be more unwatchable but somehow you’ve done it. So glad I don’t waste time watching this nonsense," a fan said.
While some fans thought it was a bad move by ESPN to have Newton join First Take, others were thrilled about the acquisition. Some think the combo of Newton, Smith, and Sharpe will be entertaining and funny to watch.
"Huge W man. Cam deserves it," one fan said.
"Huge news! Him and Sharpe and Stephen A are going to be HILARIOUS!" one fan wrote.
"Gonna be watching first take A LOT now. Cam is pure entertainment and so so good," a fan said.
Upon being hired by ESPN, Newton spoke about what it meant to join First Take.

I’m looking forward to the opportunity to share my perspective and go toe-to-toe with the best in the business. Cam Newton had a memorable and productive 11-year NFL career. Coming out of Auburn in 2011, he was the top draft prospect and selected No. 1 overall by the Carolina Panthers.
Newton lived up to his expectations, winning Offensive Rookie of the Year while throwing for 4,000 yards for the first and only time in his career. In 2015, he won league MVP while leading the Panthers to the Super Bowl.
In his career, he made the Pro Bowl three times and was a First-Team All-Pro. He's thrown for 32,382 yards and 123 touchdowns and has rushed for an NFL-record 75 touchdowns for a quarterback.
