Anthony Richardson's highlight reel didn't impress some fans

Florida Gators quarterback Anthony Richardson has been getting a lot of hype and buzz as each day gets closer to the 2023 NFL draft.

The 21-year-old quarterback has been with the Gators for the past three years but only started his junior season. Nevertheless, he's been the quarterback who's seemed to get the most buzz in the last month leading up to the draft.

Richardson is a 6'4", 232-pound mobile quarterback who has a cannon and a lazer for an arm. Scouts and analysts have been raving about his upside, as he's a big, dual-threat quarterback who can sling the ball.

While people are infatuated with his upside and potential, Richardson didn't do anything spectacular in college to get the hype that he's been getting.

He's only started one season in college and has a losing record of 6-7 in his career.

He didn't even complete 55 percent of passes (54.7) and threw just 24 touchdowns alongside 15 touchdowns in the past three years.

During his junior season last year, he was a full-time starter and went 6-6. He completed 53.8 percent of his passes for 2,549 yards, 17 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He added 654 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.

Fans reacted negatively to Richardson's highlight reel posted on Twitter from the SEC Network's Twitter page.

Most fans trashed his lack of success and called out how bad he can play at times.

Here's how fans reacted to Richardson's highlight reel:

Despite his limited success at the college level, Richardson has a first-round buzz with a chance of going into the top-10.

Several scouts believe he won't fall out of the top 10 and some think a team could potentially trade up for him in the top-five.

With many teams in the top-10 that could select a quarterback and in a deep QB class with a lot of talent, it is very possible Anthony Richardson goes in the top-10.

It would be a surprise to see the Gators QB slip out of the first round due to the buzz he's been getting, but it isn't completely out of the picture.
