Growing up in South Florida poverty in the late 1960s and 1970s, Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin knows what it takes to arrange two square meals a day. However, that's not the case for his son, Elijah.
He was born into a financially secure situation – all thanks to Irvin's successful NFL career and the $12 million he has amassed from his 12-year career as a wide receiver.
Ironically, Elijah, who raps under the name of Tut Tarantino, only writes lyrics that portray a gritty lifestyle – something that has no sync with a life filled with luxury.
Therefore, calling out Elijah during an appearance on the "Dan Patrick Show" in 2019, the Cowboys legend was completely baffled by his son's source of inspiration for the rapping lyrics.

“He raps about some of the hardest stuff in the world,” Irvin said. “I say to him, ‘Son, you grew up in a 20,000 square-foot gated community! Where does this stuff come from?’”
Now, four years later, Elijah has finally responded to his father, Michael Irvin's concerns.
Interestingly, he did not defend himself and deny his plush upbringing. Instead, he corrected Irvin's statement, saying:
"I ain't gonna lie to you, it ain't 20,000. He got to talk about that s**t. Not even 15. You know what I'm saying? It doesn't even matter."
Naturally, Elijah's incoherent response stumbled fans and reactions were harsh, to say the least.
“This boy is pathetic. Definitely some deep emotional scars he won’t admit,” one fan commented.
While a second fan sensed the sheer sense of privilege in Elijah, writing, “His only emotional scar is that he’s spoiled."
Meanwhile, another fan mentioned, "Real street dudes laughing at him. Classic case of how he has so much. He feels he has nothing. Spoiled rotten."
That said, Tut Tarantino aka Elijah has released two albums, Tarantino World and Free Brack, Pt. One. Additionally, his singles are "Jokes Up!" "First," and "Whip Work."
Unlike Elijah, Michael Irvin truly had to go through humble beginnings.
Michael Irvin's passion for football led him to NFL stardom
Son to a roofer, Michael Irvin was born into a big family of 17 children. Clearly, making ends meet was a recurring problem in the Irvin family.
However, for Michael Irvin, things changed when he went on to attend St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale in 1982. Two years later, the University of Miami recruited him to play for the Miami Hurricanes and there was no looking back.
Under the right guidance of coach Jimmy Johnson, Irvin created new records for the school. Moreover, he was also a part of the University of Miami's 1987 national championship team.
In 1988, Michael Irvin decided to skip his final year at the University of Miami and declare for the 1988 NFL Draft, which led him to his entry into the NFL. He was selected by the Dallas Cowboys.
And, the rest is history! He played from 1988-1999 in Dallas before he suffered a spine fracture on October 10, 1999, during a game against the Eagles. Currently, the three-time Super Bowl champion is considered one of the greatest NFL wide receivers ever.
