Cooper Kupp has had an iconic facial look throughout his career: shaggy blond hair and a thick beard. But when he changed it a little bit on Monday, fans were aghast.
Just before the wild-card game against the Minnesota Vikings, cameras spotted the Los Angeles Rams wide receiver sporting braids - a far cry from the usual sight of him wearing his hair down:
Nearly everyone was unimpressed:

"That just doesn’t look right," one said.
"WTF," another shuddered.
"He's done ..have never seen a drop off like this...", another "lamented".
The game was moved to Glendale's State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, owing to the devastating wildfires in Southern California. Speaking of the motivation, Kupp said:
“Nothing close to things that are happening in the real world, but it is an opportunity for us to draw closer together and say, ‘Let’s be able to respond from a little bit of hardship here and go out there and do something special.’”
Cooper Kupp discusses playing in Glendale ahead of relocated Wild Card matchup vs. Vikings
The Cardinals have put the usual enmity aside to accommodate their divisional rivals, and Cooper Kupp is grateful to them for making it happen. During a recent presser, he said (segment starts at 10:32):
“I think it’s been pretty cool. (I don’t know) all the ins and outs of what they’ve done, but it sounds like the Cardinals have been very helpful - what they’ve done for us and being able to get our families out here and stuff. It’s a really cool thing to see… what they’re doing for the LA community.”
An interesting thing about his career is that until Week 2 this season, he had been perfect at State Farm Stadium ever since the Rams drafted him in 2017. When asked about whether he liked playing there because of such success, he said (From 11:04):
“Yeah, it’s good. I do think we’ve for the most part played pretty well. It's grass, too, which is a big bonus. I'll take any chance we have to play on grass.”
