NFL fans unimpressed with Travis Kelce's girlfriend Taylor Swift's cameo in new 2024 season promo video

The 2024 NFL season hasn't even started yet, and fans are already upset with Taylor Swift's appearance in a promotional video. NFL fans were displeased last season when Swift was at Kansas City Chiefs games supporting boyfriend Travis Kelce. The same sentiment has boiled over into the 2024 NFL season.

NFL released a hype video on Monday evening as a way to get fans ready for the season kickoff on Thursday. For some fans, though, they were caught up in how many times the Grammy-winning singer was seen cheering at Chiefs games. The video had over 3.5 million views in less than 18 hours on X, formerly Twitter. It attracted a plethora of comments for the clips showing Swift.

"FOOTBALL IS BACK THIS WEEK."

NFL fans quickly shared their opinion of the league choosing to show Swift that frequently in the video. Some believed it was simply "unnecessary" and took away from the concept of the video, which should have been the game of football.

The comments about Swift's appearance in the video continued, as some counted five different times she was shown. Once was when Swift congratulated Kelce on the Super Bowl win.

Others were shocked that she was shown in the social media video more than some of the biggest stars in the league.

"WHY ARE WE SHOWING TAYLOR SWIFT 5 TIMES I THOUGHT THIS WAS FOOTBALL?" asked one fan.

"Taylor swift hype video," declared another fan.

"5 Taylor Swifts in 28 seconds is ABSURD," another stated.

"Nothing but Taylor swift under the highlights of every month I’m so sick of this league," expressed another fan.

"Idk if that many Swift highlights are necessary," one person said.

Another fan was upset they didn't even see their favorite team in the video, but the league chose to show Swift again. If the promotional video is any glimpse into the upcoming season, the NFL will clearly take any opportunity to show Swift at Chiefs' games this season. Even if it means their fan base has expressed their desire not to see her.

"Why is T swift in here more than Justin Jefferson," another fan asked.

"Stop showing Taylor swift," one fan demanded.

"Leave Taylor Swift outta my sport," demanded one NFL fan.

"Without exaggeration, Swift may have been in this NFL hype video more than any player," one fan said.

Patrick Mahomes said Taylor Swift has drawn up her own NFL plays

Before Taylor Swift began dating Travis Kelce last summer, the singer wasn't much of a football fan. She quickly learned the game as she attended over a dozen Kansas City Chiefs games in 2023, including three playoff games and Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In a recent interview with Chris Simms on "NFL on NBC," Patrick Mahomes revealed that Swift has become a big fan of the game. So much so, that she has drawn up her own offensive plays. The three-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback joked that the Chiefs may use one of her plays this season.

“She asks a lot of great questions. She’s already drawing up plays, so we might have to put one in," he said.

Kelce has said how much he appreciates the Grammy winner's support at his games. He returns the sentiment during the offseason by attending her concerts.
