"I'd be scared to death to draft him" - NFL insider fires warning to GMs about Bryce Young

Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Bryce Young is regarded as the best quarterback for this year's draft and is expected to be selected number one overall.

He's been touted as the no. 1 quarterback since the season ended and has a very strong chance of going first overall.

Like every college prospect, Young has his flaws. His flaws have to do with his body. A recent report showed that his real height is 5'10-1/2" while he was originally listed as 6'0". Young also reportedly weighs in at 195 lbs.

NFL draft insider and mock expert Todd McShay recently opened up about his thoughts on drafting Bryce Young. He loves the youngster as a prospect and thinks he's special.

“I love Bryce Young, I really do. I know he’s 195 pounds; a really good friend of mine who’s a scout had him at 5’10½”. But I met with him, I’ve talked to him. He’s special. He’s different. He has the poise, the presence in the pocket, the playmaking, everything else you want. I absolutely love Bryce Young. I would bet on him.”

Despite the compliments, McShay admitted that he would be "scared to death" of drafting him.

"If I'm a GM, I'm scared to death of drafting him," the expert was reported to have said.

Concerns about his height and weight are the only issues for the top prospect. He's currently working with a nutritionist to try to bulk up to 210 lbs.

Why Bryce Young could be the number one overall pick in 2023

Young had a tremendous career at the University of Alabama. In 2021, he won the Heisman Trophy and became the first-ever Bama quarterback to claim the prestigious award.

He went 13-2, setting school records in passing yards (4,872) and touchdowns (47). He threw seven interceptions and three rushing touchdowns.

Young led Alabama to a 9-2 record this season while capturing the Sugar Bowl MVP. He finished his college career with 80 passing touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

In a few months, we will find out where Young will land. The Chicago Bears currently hold the number one pick in the draft and could trade back with a team that wants to trade up and select the young star from Bama.
