The Las Vegas Raiders' season ended in interesting fashion as they publicly declared they weren't going to tank for the No. 1 overall pick. As a result, they ended up winning two of their last three games, eventually settling No. 6 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

With a new head coach set to have some sway in whether they stick at No. 6 or trade up to draft someone like Shedeur Sanders or Cam Ward, things are getting a little tricky for the franchise. Amid all of this, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported that Tom Brady had reached out to Bill Belichick to test the waters on what it would take to bring him back to the NFL.

There are a lot of moving parts with the Raiders at the moment and NFL insider Mike Florio believes Brady is relishing his role as part-owner of the franchise. However, Florio also believes Brady will be leaning towards calling time on his nascent broadcasting career owing to the excitement that comes with putting things in order for the Raiders. On the Dan Patrick Show on Wednesday evening, Florio outlined his train of thought, saying:

“I think that Tom Brady either has no self-awareness whatsoever to realize the various landmines and conflicts of interest. It’s just a bad look – him trying to do two jobs that do not mesh.

"Myles Simmons put it best, 'He wants to be the best at everything he does.' It’s impossible to be the best possible broadcaster you can be and the best possible part owner of a team you can be. He’s either completely oblivious to that or he’s hyper aware of the fact he can do whatever the hell he wants and he’s going to do whatever the hell he wants to do."

Florio added that at some point, Brady is going to realize that he does not have enough time to devote to his day job and to the Raiders and believes the seven-time Super Bowl champion will eventually choose Sin City over the broadcasting booth.

“I think at some point he’s going to realize, not being able to go to the games, not being involved with the team in the regular season as he’d like to be because he has another job that keeps him occupied on Sundays in other cities, Florio said.
"I think at some point he’s going to realize that I shouldn’t do both, I can’t do both. I want the competitive juices. I want to be in the fray, I want to be with the Raiders. I think there’s people in the league who are quietly hoping that’s the way it goes.

Brady, of course, is currently in the first year of the 10-year, $375 million deal he signed with Fox. He made his broadcasting debut in Week 1 when the Cowboys faced the Browns. Brady will also cover Super Bowl LIX for FOX Sports in February.

Where Tom Brady's Raiders stand in 2025 NFL coaching search

Three names have been immediately linked with the Raiders - former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen.

The Raiders are also set to interview Detroit Lions OC Ben Johnson at some point. Johnson is arguably the most wanted man in the 2025 coaching carousel and also has interviews lined up with the Chicago Bears and Jacksonville Jaguars.
