The Las Vegas Raiders are expected to trade Davante Adams in the coming weeks. The star wide receiver has made it clear that he wants to get traded, with the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints being his preferred destinations.

Adams has two years left on his current deal, but he's due to get paid a non-guaranteed amount of $36.25 million in each of the next two seasons. Based on it, any team can part ways with him after this season without taking any dead-cap hit.

ESPN's Adam Schefter talked about Adams' situation on the Pat McAfee Show:

"Ultimately, I still think Davante wants to go play for the Jets or the Saints. And I think ultimately, in the end, the Raiders figure out a way to work it out with the Jets or the Saints.

"So, even though Davante Adams doesn't have a no trade, he does have influence in this particular situation in the form of restructuring his contract for next year. ... There's not going to be a team out there next year that wants to pay Davante Adams $36.25 million non-guaranteed and carry him on that roster.
"Mark Davis is paying Davante Adams $970k, almost a million dollars for each week he is not playing, I don't think Mark Davis wants that...you will need to see if the Raiders are willing to pay the money due to Davante for the rest of the year, which to my understanding is they've been declining to do that, they don't want to pay him any money that is owed."

Since Adams could be a free agent after this season, teams other than the Jets or the Saints might not be willing to match the Raiders' asking price for the receiver. If Adams gets traded to his ideal destination, he might restructure his contract and stay beyond this season.

The Jets lost 23-17 to the Minnesota Vikings, where Aaron Rodgers threw three interceptions. New York's offense hasn't played well this season, so they should make an immediate offer to the Raiders to get Davante Adams.

The Jets have averaged just 18.6 points this season, and if they don't trade for Adams, they might not make the playoffs. New York has enough cap space to afford the Raiders receiver's contract.

The Raiders are reportedly seeking a second-round pick and an additional pick to trade Adams. The veteran wideout has missed two games due to a hamstring issue but is expected to be available for Week 6.
