NFL revises 2023 salary cap to all-time high breaching $220 million mark

On Monday, January 30th, NFL clubs were notified of the salary cap number for the 2023 season. NFL Network reported that the 2023 salary cap will be a record of $224.8 million per team which is $16.6 million from 2022's $208.2 million salary cap.

This will mark the second season that the salary cap will be above $200 million and the first time it exceeds $220 million.

Each season the cap goes up by around $10-$20 million. However, in 2021, it went down from $198.2 million the season before to $182.5 million due to the COVID-19 pandemic adjustment.

As of right now, almost half of the league is under the cap limit as 14 teams need to get under the cap by the start of the season.
