The Las Vegas Raiders announced they were parting ways with Antonio Pierce on Tuesday after just one full season following their disappointing 4-13 campaign.

He took over as interim head coach in Week 9 of the 2023 season after the team fired Josh McDaniels. He led them to a 5-4 record over the final nine games of the campaign and earned the full-time gig, but only one dismal season later, he's out as the head coach.

The Raiders (4-13) have yet to make any interview requests. However, like every team with a coaching vacancy, they will likely reach out to the Detroit Lions and ask permission to meet their offense coordinator Ben Johnson.

Mike Vrabel, who has been heavily linked to the New England Patriots, will also potentially be asked to visit the Intermountain Health Performance Center, the Raiders' headquarters, and meet the top brass.

However, Vegas Nation reporter Vincent Bonsignore claimed that former Super Bowl-winning coach Pete Carroll is also a contender to become the franchise's new coach.

"One name that I would also keep in mind as it relates to the Raiders: Pete Carroll," Bonsignore tweeted.

Tom Brady to help Raiders' head coach search

If Pete Carroll wants the job, he'll not only have to impress owner Mark Davis but also seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady.

The Fox Sports analyst, who became one of the limited owners of the $6.7 billion franchise last year, will be one of the key figures in Las Vegas' search committee to find the right candidate to lead the franchise in 2025 and beyond.

Brady's presence could help the franchise land one of its top targets, which likely doesn't include Carroll. The 73-year-old's resume is phenomenal. However, the Raiders have had five different coaches since the 2020 season and are keen on breaking the trend of running through head coach.

They would prefer a long-term solution to their head coaching conundrum, which would rule out Carroll. However, they could settle for the former Seattle Seahawks head coach if they don't land one of the top candidates. It's hard to predict who'll lead Las Vegas in 2025, but whoever gets the nod will have Brady's stamp of approval.
