Earlier this week, the NFL launched its own Discord server, making it easily accessible to any fan. The announcement was originally made a few weeks ago, and the server went live on Thursday, just before the Week 3 games began.
However, negative and explicit comments quickly began to surface. Fans were understandably upset over the disturbing comments, sharing screenshots and calling out the problematic things said on the NFL discord server.
One fan compiled a thread of all problematic messages, which quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter). Many users voiced their disappointment, urging the NFL to take better measures to address such issues in the future.

Certain fans even called out individual fanbases.
"See how Cowboys fans are always at the scene of the crime," one fan said.
Some comments were also racist, causing fans to speak up on the same.
"Racists are a weird species you hate black people but watch a sport where 70% of the players are black," one fan said.
"STOP BECAUSE SOME OF THESE R EITHER REALLY RACIST OR REALLY FUNNY LIKE WHAT ???" another fan said.
"I like how half of these are racist/lgbtphobic/whatever and half of these are just genuinely funny," a fan said.
Others wondered what the NFL was up to.
"Holy shit what was the NFL thinking trusting losers on the internet," a fan said.
"Insane how this company couldn’t hire one nerd to program a bot to censor obviously offensive phrases and implement all the classic big server discord verification rules," one fan said.
"That is the most creative way i have ever seen anyone circumvent blocks to say the n word. i m genuinly in awe," one user said.
The NFL has yet to make a statement on the Discord server.
