Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens appear to still be far off in contract negotiations.

Before the start of the new league year, the team placed their non-exclusive tag on the former MVP, locking him under contract before he could hit free agency.

As of now, there has been no progress on a new deal and Jackson has even requested a trade.

Many around the league and sports analysts think Jackson should hire an agent to help hammer out a long-term deal.

Drew Rosenhaus, a successful NFL agent, joined the Pat McAfee Show and told Pat that he wishes to be Lamar's agent.

“I wish I was the agent for Lamar Jackson, because he's a great football player and I'm confident I can get a deal worked out for him. Pat, I think guarantee contracts are amazing. And obviously, as an agent, we'd love to see all contracts in the NFL, fully guaranteed and be more consistent with what we see in Major League Baseball and the NBA. But I don't think you must have, let's say a five-year fully guaranteed contract to make it work."

Rosenhaus then proposed that Jackson should seek a four-year fully guaranteed deal in the final year based on an injury guarantee. The 56-year-old also added that he thinks he could get a deal done if he were to represent Jackson.

"What if he did four years fully guaranteed signing and you had the final year guaranteed based on an injury guarantee, or one that becomes fully guaranteed based on performance? There should be a compromise.
"I'm confident I could get with the Ravens and their general manager Eric Acosta and work out a deal with their if not that, I'm confident that I could find another team to work out a suitable deal with the franchise player and try instead of by you know, a deal for two first round picks.”

Many players have represented themselves and have gotten long-term deals done without agents such as DeAndre Hopkins, Russell Okung, Jacoby Brissett, and many others. Having an agent certainly helps though.

During the Baltimore Ravens' pre-draft press conference this morning, general manager Eric DeCosta declined to answer any Lamar-Jackson related questions.

He was asked a few times about Lamar with a Ravens rep reiterating that the team would not be answering questions regarding Jackson.

During the same interview, DeCosta stated that he could see the team drafting a quarterback.

It would come as no surprise, especially if the team moves on from Jackson. At pick number 22, the Ravens could land a solid QB as this year's class could see five drafted in the first-round.

Do you think the Ravens will trade Lamar Jackson to draft a quarterback?
