The Philadelphia Eagles started the 2023 season 5-0. The team went 6-6 in the final 12 games and did not win the NFC East division, which led to a Wild Card playoff spot. The Eagles then lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round of the playoffs, and the season was over. Head coach Nick Sirianni thought long and hard this offseason about his team's lackluster performance down the stretch in 2023.

Sirianni recently told reporters that he knows his actions as head coach are the root of the problem. Sirianni will take the mantra of "accountability" into the 2024 NFL season. The Eagles head coach has led the team the last three seasons and has been known to lose his temper with officials, something he looks to change this season.

“You know, one thing that I read when I was reading a leadership book this offseason was if you want everyone around you to have accountability and you want yourself to have accountability, then you fussing at the refs is not -- it’s almost like, ‘Hey, this happened, so I’m going to blame that. When I read that, I was like, ‘Yeah, that hit me some sort of way.’ When I think about me with a referee potentially on the sideline and I complain about a call, is that really sending the right message to the rest of the team as far as our accountability goes?"-Nick Sirianni told reporters

Jahan Dotson broke silence on trade to Philadelphia Eagles

In a rare move, Philadelphia made a trade inside the NFC East division last week when they acquired wide receiver Jahan Dotson from the Washington Commanders. The former first-round draft pick will now play back home in Pennsylvania and look to bounce back after a slow offensive performance in 2023, something the Eagles and coach Nick Sirianni would love to see.

Jahan Dotson spoke to the media a few days after the trade and said that he was shocked by the news. He said that playing for a new team after spending two years with Washington will be a serious change.

"It was a shock, you know? Just because all I know in the NFL is Washington Commanders. But at the end of the day, it's a business, and I understand that very much so."-Dotson said of the trade

Dotson said that he understands the NFL is a business and he doesn't have any hard feelings. The Eagles will play the Commanders at home on Nov. 14, and again in Washington on Dec. 22.
