Nick Wright slams people blaming vaccines for Damar Hamlin’s collapse - “People were searching for a villain”

Damar Hamlin's collapse on the field during the game against the Cincinnati Bengals was a very scary sight. Nobody knew what to do because such a situation has never occurred in the NFL before. The medical professional gave CPR to Hamlin, which ultimately saved his life.

People all over the world began to pray for Hamlin's health when he was rushed to the hospital. Many others, though, were still looking for a cause to blame someone for Hamlin's demise. Some even believed that the Covid-19 vaccinations were to blame.

Nick Wright was frustrated that some decided to play the blame-game. On "First Things First," Wright said the following:

"People were searching for a villain when they're not necessary. There wasn't necessarily one. People were like, oh my god, the NFL wanted them to play five minutes later.

"I don't believe the NFL every one of them to play. Five minutes later, I think there was a lot going on, and was the typical protocol is maybe you can get five minutes, but this was not typical.

"Then people found tweets to get mad at then people were mad at the sport of football as a whole. Some people said decided to blame modern medicine and vaccines for what was just an inexplicable terrifying event."

Not only did the anti-vax community take advantage of the situation, but others did as well. ESPN analyst Bart Scott claimed that Cincinnati Bengals receiver Tee Higgins shouldn't have made that play and incredibly blamed him for Damar Hamlin's collapse.

He faced a lot of outrage for his comments, but there are still many people who needed to blame something for it. Skip Bayless also faced a lot of heat about his comments, which were taken out of context, but he soon apologized for it, as he realized the timing was wrong.

Damar Hamlin's condition remains critical but has improved

As per the uncle of Damar Hamlin, the health of the Buffalo Bills' safety has improved. At the time of his collapse, Hamlin needed 100% of artificial oxygen, but now he just requires 50% of oxygen. Hopefully, Hamlin will make a full recovery. The entire world is praying for his well-being at the moment.

The game between the Bengals and the Bills has been postponed and it is uncertain whether it will be replayed. With the NFL entering Week 18, all the focus is rightly on Damar Hamlin's recovery.
