Kansas City Chiefs fan Nick Wright had Lamar Jackson in his crosshairs, and not Mark Andrews, after the Ravens lost 27-25 in the Divisional Round to the Bills. The tight end made two costly mistakes in the fourth quarter that turned the game on its head. One was a fumble after picking up a first down when the score was 24-19. A touchdown there would have given Baltimore the lead. Instead, the Bills recovered and scored a field goal to take a 27-19 lead.

When Lamar Jackson hauled his team back with a touchdown within the two-minute warning to make it 27-25, all that was needed was a two-point conversion to force overtime. He thew to Mark Andrews who dropped the ball despite having a lot of space and being under no pressure.

However, Nick Wright was in no mood to be charitable towards the Ravens quarterback, whose wait for a Super Bowl goes into another year despite winning two regular-season MVP awards and being in with a shout this year too. The NFL commentator said that even though Lamar Jackson did not make the critical mistakes at the end of the game, he also had two costly turnovers in the first half.

One was an interception where the Bills failed to capitalize but the other was a strip sack that led to the Bills' first lead. He acknowledged that the Baltimore star was better than before but reminded everyone that this was not the first time that he had had two turnovers in a playoff game.

In fact, Nick Wright said that it is now an occurrence in half of his postseason games, whereas that percentage drops to 15 percent in the regular season. He commented on X/Twitter,

"Lamar was much better than previously today, but… Lamar now has multiple turnovers in 4 of his 8 career playoff games... 50% of the time in the playoffs, he has multiple TOs... He has multiple turnovers in 14 of 94 career regular season starts, which is 15%."

Nick Wright ignores Mark Andrews' mistakes and focuses on Lamar Jackson's errors

Nick Wright did not dwell much on Mark Andrews' mistakes and continued to remind everyone that Lamar Jackson did not have a multiple-turnover game for the entirety of the 2024 regular season. The last time this happened was in the AFC Championship match last year, which Baltimore also lost. He further wrote on the social media platform,

"This was Lamar’s “best” performance in a playoff loss… but that’s kind of the problem... Lamar didn’t have multiple turnovers in a game *all season*… and then has multiple turnovers in the first half... The last time he had multiple turnovers? The AFCCG last year."

Whether it is Mark Andrews or Lamar Jackson who is ultimately at fault, this game served to remind us how fine the margins are in the NFL playoffs.
