“No botox injections this week”, “NFL’s golden boy finally catches a fine” – NFL fans can’t believe Tom Brady got away with a fine for kicking Falcons player

Atlanta Falcons v Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady was fined for his actions during Sunday's game.

All week long, the roughing the passer call that went in Tom Brady's favor on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons' Grady Jarrett was the topic of conversation among NFL fans.

During the play, Brady also appeared to kick out at Jarrett after he was brought to the ground.

While the call itself was controversial, most fans felt that the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback should have been severely punished for his actions after the play.

On Friday, the NFL informed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback that he would, in fact, be fined $11,139 for kicking out at Grady Jarrett.

A section of NFL fans was happy that the 45-year-old quarterback was fined for his actions. Others, however, were quick to point out that $11,139 isn't much of a fine for the 23-year NFL veteran.

Here's what fans on Twitter had to say about the issue:

Did Tom Brady actually kick Grady Jarrett twice?

Apparently this wasn't the only time that the veteran quarterback kicked Jarrett during Sunday's game.

The first time Jarrett sacked Brady in Week 5, the quarterback could be seen kicking him as he got up off the ground in the first quarter.

He did the same thing the second time that he was sacked.

Could the culmination of the two kicking incidents be the reason why the league decided to punish the quarterback for his actions?

Back in 2013, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback was also fined for kicking. At the time, it was Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed on the receiving end. Brady was fined $10,000 for his actions.

Some have also called for the officiating crew from Sunday's game, led by Jerome Boger, to be reprimanded or split up so that they don't make any costly errors in big games down the stretch for the rest of the season. The league has not commented on the performance of the officiating crew.
