Packers fans voice complaints over white helmet pairing with 2024 alternate jerseys- "Trash as f**k" 

Green Bay Packers fans were given an early look at a possible uniform choice for the 2024 NFL season. Green Bay's official account on X released two photos of an alternate uniform including white pants and a jersey. Another photo shows that the helmet will be included in the all-white look.

The alternate uniform for the Green Bay Packers will likely be for a color rush game, as many monochromatic designs are. There are mixed emotions amongst Green Bay fans about the design, with the majority of fans unhappy about it.

Some fans weren't afraid to use the word 'trash,' and others just said they didn't care what uniform the team would wear. Although the uniform has a clean, all-white look, it does have the iconic Packers' green and gold colors on a stripe on the pants and jersey.

One fan joked that the team now looked like white cheddar cheese, a joke about their famous cheesehead moniker. Most fans preferred the classic green and gold uniforms; however, there was one fan who said the white uniforms would look better with the original helmet and not a white one.

"White Cheddar is almost upon us."-one fan joked

"These would look fine with the normal helmet, but alas …"-said another

"this is 100% the moment where I turn into a cranky old man isn't it."-asked another fan

The helmet sentiment was a common response for fans, who would have much rather the team use their original helmets. Until last season, the NFL allowed teams to wear an alternate uniform but prohibited alternate helmets.

This was a safety concern and one the NFL believed would help in their mission to prevent head injuries. The NFL now allows teams to wear another helmet color scheme with the alternate uniform.

"Some teams shouldn’t do an alternate helmet. The Packers are one of those teams. P.S. The Chiefs are another."-one user wrote on X

"You know the white helmet is coming. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. I knew this multi-shell NFL was going to have consequences. The slippery slope gets more slippery."-said one fan who wasn't pleased with the uniform look

When will the Green Bay Packers wear the alternate uniform?

Hours after hinting at an alternate uniform, the Green Bay Packers officially debuted the all-white look on Thursday morning. The team announced the "Winter Warning" game will take place on October 20, 2024, in a home game against the Houston Texans.

Fans are encouraged to wear all white to create a blizzard/whiteout look throughout Lambeau Field. Green Bay will also give all fans in attendance a whiteout scarf when they attend the game. Moreover, fans can purchase the alternate uniform gear at their pro shop.
