The Green Bay Packers will host the Minnesota Vikings at Lambeau Field on Sunday in an NFC North divisional battle. However, they might do so without cornerback Jaire Alexander.

The visiting Vikings lost presumptive starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy before the season commenced due to a torn meniscus. However, it was a blessing in disguise as backup quarterback Sam Darnold has led them to a perfect 3-0 start to the season.

The Packers will have their work cut out trying to beat the undefeated Vikings as Alexander could be set to miss the game. The two-time All-Pro is nursing a quadriceps injury and did not take part in practice on Friday.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur was asked for an update on Alexander's status for Sunday after he missed practice on Friday.

Losing Jaire Alexander would be a massive blow to the Packers' odds of containing Darnold and the Vikings' offense. Minnesota boasts one of the best wide receiver duos in the league in Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.

Missing their top defensive back will severely hurt Green Bay's odds of winning their third straight game and usurping the Vikings in the NFC standings. Alexander has been officially listed as questionable for the game on Sunday.

Jaire Alexander and Jordan Love expected to be among Packers' absentees vs. Vikings

Per the Packers' injury report, Love has been a limited participant in practice throughout the week. Like Jaire Alexander, he has been listed as questionable for Green Bay's divisional battle against the Vikings.

While the quarterback could suit up, it's unlikely the Packers would risk fielding him against Minnesota's excellent defensive unit. The Vikings have given up only 10 points per game on average in their first three games. They lead the league in sacks with 16 and second in interceptions with five.

Given how stellar Minnesota's defense has been, Green Bay likely wouldn't field Love. Quarterback Malik Willis is in line to get this third straight start on Sunday. He has been solid under center and has won in his two starts so far. The Packers will hope he can make it three out of three in Week 4.
