Pat Mahomes Sr. DWI arrest: Patrick Mahomes’ dad slapped with five years probation after third arrest

In some major news for the Mahomes family, Pat Mahomes Sr. has been sentenced to five years probation in Judge Kerry L. Russell’s court.

Mahomes was arrested in February for the third time on account of a DWI. When he was checked at a traffic stop, his blood reportedly showed an alcohol content level of 0.23 on Feb. 24. Besides the five-year probation, he will also have his driver's license taken from him for a year and will have to have a breathalyzer ignition device installed on his vehicle, per KCTV5.

The court ruled that after spending 10 days in jail, he would be placed under "intense supervision" for Year 1 of his probation. To ensure that such an incident does not happen again, he will reportedly have to take AA courses as well.

Pat Mahomes Sr. said that ever since he was arrested for the third time in February, he hasn't had a drink.

“Hopefully it will enlighten someone else to take these measures and make sure this doesn’t happen again,” he said.

This comes at a time when his son, Kansas City Chiefs QB, Patrick Mahomes is trying to find his mojo after a sub-par start to the season.

The three-time Super Bowl champion has registered just five touchdowns against four interceptions through three games and has a rating of 89.9.

Pat Mahomes Sr tries to attend as many games as he can and is hoping to continue in that vein. When the judge was asked by reporters if Mahomes Sr. would be allowed to leave the county to watch his son play, he deferred those decisions to his probation officer.

“It’s kind of a tradition; I normally go to all the football games. I know he enjoys me being there, so hopefully things will work out and I’ll be able to continue what I’ve been doing,” Mahomes said.

Patrick Mahomes is yet to comment on the ruling against his father.
