Pat McAfee is known for his takes on football and wrestling and rarely talks about basketball. But the sports analyst knows a viral moment in that sport when he sees one.
While warming up for the game against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night, Los Angeles Lakers superstar guard Luka Doncic connected on a long shot from behind the basket. This caused the former Indianapolis Colts punter and current podcast host to shout on his social media account:
"What in the actual (expletive) is going on here."

After three quarters, the Lakers were leading the Nuggets 105-77. Doncic had 31 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.
Pat McAfee unable to comprehend Aaron Rodgers' waiting game
Back to the subject of football, one of Pat McAfee's closest confidants is the subject of one of the most protracted free agency discussions of 2025, at least.
Aaron Rodgers, lately a frequent guest on the former punter's eponymous show, has been pondering where to play in 2025. He has met with the New York Giants and has also been linked to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings, but nothing concrete has emerged so far.
On Wednesday's episode, McAfee said of this silence:
“There’s not a lot of people that are in the Aaron circle that have any idea of what’s happening. And we only know that because we’ve been on this ride for the past five or six years, you know. And we have no (expletive) idea. (Former linebacker and Rodgers teammate) AJ (Hawk) I don’t even think knows. It’s all very interesting.”
He added that, by now, he would have assumed where the multiple-time MVP would play:
“He’s 40-plus years old, He’s committed his whole life to football… That’s a massive decision to have to make especially if that’s the last team you’re going to play for, if that is what he’s contemplating.”
In the latest development, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that the Vikings were removing themselves from the pursuit of Rodgers to fully focus on incoming sophomore JJ McCarthy. He is projected to return from an ACL tear that cost him his rookie season before it even began.
This leaves only the Giants and Steelers, both quarterback-needy teams who have also been linked to draft prospects like Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders.
