Could we see Aaron Rodgers appearing on Pat McAfee's show again during the 2024 season? It's certainly a possibility. At least that's what the former punter and current ESPN personality teased during ESPN's media day.

The New York Jets quarterback appeared regularly on McAfee's show during 2023 as he used the platform to announce his decision to change teams. Later, as he got injured after just four snaps with his new team, he also featured weekly to give progress on his recovery.

This is not something that's done out of goodwill. While the exact numbers aren't clear, Pat McAfee told the New York Post earlier this year that he has surely paid more than $1 million over the course of the years for Rodgers' appearances. McAfee also said to the Post that "Rodgers deserves much more."

While no more details were revealed, it remains to be seen how the quarterback will fit his weekly appearances with practices and meetings with the team. Even though he surely attracted a lot of media — and he does love to be the center of attention — it isn't easy to attend so many media duties midway through game weeks.

Aaron Rodgers' fake comeback attempt was fueled by 'The Pat McAfee Show'

Although Aaron Rodgers made an impressive recovery, it was clear that he would not return to play in the 2023 season. However, he still appeared weekly on Tuesdays on "The Pat McAfee Show" and gave hopeful updates to fans. Still, Rodgers did not return in the 2023 season.

The fact that the New York Jets weren't close to getting a playoff spot made his return even more unlikely since there was no reason for him to risk an early return with nothing left to play for. Although headlines would've been great, the risk was not worth taking.

The Jets alternated between Zach Wilson, Tim Boyle and Trevor Siemian as the starters following Rodgers' injury in Week 1. They're hoping that this time, they won't need to worry about their backup quarterback.
